About us

The mission of this group is to improve awareness of Shibari, and to facilitate training for people who wish to learn to tie, or improve their skills. We accept and promote all forms of Shibari, whether for kink play, artistic expression, or performance based. We are creating a short film documentary about Shibari in Bangkok which will be screened to the public in 2024.

SHIBARI FOUNDATIONS Workshops

A Shibari Course comprising of four (self contained) workshops taught by experienced practitioners. For both riggers and rope bottoms. Aimed at people who wish to improve their Shibari.

The emphasis is not on the ties, but on the fundamental skills, approach, and attitudes required to conduct a rope scene.

Some workshops, will be intensive and technical. Others will focus on the emotion, consent, communication, and connection within a rope scene. Some workshops will focus on safety and awareness, or rope-bottom focused issues that are also essential for riggers to understand.

FOUNDATIONS:AWARENESS WORKSHOP

We will take time to reflect on each participant’s individual reasons for doing shibari, and learn various tools to practice ropes from a place of awareness, and safety.

Learn about what to pay attention to in order to respect your own personal risk profile, do checks, mitigate risks, and make the most out of a rope session.

This workshop is for both riggers and bottoms who would like to improve their awareness, attentiveness, and communication skills, before, during, and after a rope session.

FOUNDATIONS:TECHNIQUE WORKSHOP

This workshop will focus on the technical aspects of Shibari. Controlling rope tension, and building better harnesses. How to move yourself, your rope, and the rope bottom effectively. Utilising body mechanics. Adapting ties for different body types and flexibilities. Rope handling and flow, and efficient techniques for tying and untying. Being a better rigger.

FOUNDATIONS:CONNECTION WORKSHOP

Trainer: C00 Price: 890 baht. 1600 baht per couple

My workshop will be about creating that connection with someone. An important part of tying with (or getting tied by) a new person is feeling comfortable with them. How can we facilitate that comfort as a rigger? How do we start the scene? How do we end it?

I feel that as a rigger it is our responsibility to take care of our partner both physically and mentally.

While I will be teaching some of my favorite ties and shapes, the focus of the workshop will be on connecting with your partner.

FOUNDATIONS:SPONTANEITY WORKSHOP

Trainer: UnnamedMinor This workshop will delve into spontaneity, creativity, and improvisation in Shibari rope tying. We will learn about one rope Ichinawa rope ties. Improvised, spontaneous, and sensual flowing rope ties to connect with the rope bottom. Varying rythm, intensity, and space. We will also experiment and improvise some rope ties incorporating bamboo.
